The Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods (PRCHN) housed in the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University was formed in 2009 to address chronic health issues faced in disadvantaged neighborhoods in the Greater Cleveland area. The PRCHN’s research is focused in 5 often overlapping areas: food access and community nutrition; supportive environments for health eating/ active living; tobacco prevention and cessation; place-based environmental surveillance; and chronic disease management research.
